“80s Elegance in Dialogue with Rome’s Baroque Architecture.”
Alessandro Michele’s latest collection was presented in his hometown of Rome for the first time since the founder’s passing. Translating the “stability and movement” of Baroque architecture into clothing, the collection paid homage to the powerful female figures of the 1980s. Chiffon gowns, sculptural shoulders, and satin cummerbunds came together to express an “elegance of contradictions.”
