Between the Living Room and the Pitch
Umbro and Italian label Slam Jam’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection explores the space between football and domestic life. Its inspiration comes from traditional British homes and their interiors, reimagining the home as a place to get ready for a match, build anticipation, and recover from the game afterward.
Drawing on folk influences and the sensibility of “cottagecore,” the collection interprets football clothing through domestic motifs: wallpaper-like patterns, knits reminiscent of handmade crafts, and pearl buttons.
At the same time, details are deliberately concealed, as in a “censored uniform,” pointing to the institutional side of football—its rules, authority, and systems of control. The collection brings together two sides of the game in one wardrobe: intimacy and discipline, home and stadium.
