Collection: SOSHIOTSUKI
Bringing tailoring cultivated in Japan to Florence.
SOSHIOTSUKI, helmed by Sōshi Ōtsuki, presents its Fall/Winter 2026 collection, “IN FLORENCE.” Focusing on the “Galápagos effect”—where Italian tailoring, popular during Japan’s bubble economy, evolved uniquely within Japan’s insular environment—the collection “re-imports” this sartorial culture back to Italy, the mecca of tailoring. The collection incorporates movement into its static structures through details such as double-breasted jackets with an inverted triangle silhouette created by accentuated shoulders and slim-fit pants; lapels and collar tips given an artificial curl through pattern manipulation and ironing; bias-cut Oxford shirts; and a design feature where the shirt placket functions as a tie.
[About the Brand]
A Japanese fashion brand founded in 2015 by Sōshi Ōtsuki. The brand’s concept is “dandyism born of the Japanese spirit and the techniques of the tailor.” It fuses Eastern and Western design philosophies and is characterized by tailoring inspired by classical Japanese performing arts. Drawing on workwear and religious vestments as references, the brand embodies “luxurious practicality” and “cultural fusion.”
